Engineering Capabilities

Built for precision. Our engines use rigorous numerical methods to ensure compliance with ACI 318-19 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete.

Column Interaction Diagrams

Our column calculator uses the Strain Compatibility Method to generate the full P-M interaction envelope. It accounts for the Whitney Stress Block parameters, strength reduction factors ($\phi$) transitioning from 0.65 to 0.90, and the maximum axial load cap ($0.80 P_o$).

  • Calculate Demand/Capacity (D/C) Ratio
  • Check Compression vs. Tension Controlled
  • Analyze Rectangular Sections with Side Bars

Beam Shear & Moment

Perform rapid analysis of simply supported beams. The engine calculates shear ($V_u$) and moment ($M_u$) diagrams based on factored load combinations (1.2D + 1.6L). It also checks serviceability using the Effective Moment of Inertia ($I_e$) for immediate deflection.

  • Automatic Self-Weight Calculation
  • Flexural Reinforcement Design ($A_s$)
  • Shear Stirrup Spacing Checks

Spread Footing Analysis

Design isolated square or rectangular footings. The tool verifies soil bearing pressure ($P/A \pm M/S$) against allowable capacity ($Q_{all}$). Crucially, it performs the Two-Way (Punching) Shear check at distance $d/2$ from the column face, considering interior, edge, or corner conditions.

Retaining Wall Stability

Ensure stability of cantilever retaining walls. The calculator uses Rankine Earth Pressure theory to determine lateral active ($K_a$) and passive ($K_p$) forces. It calculates Safety Factors for Overturning and Sliding, and checks bearing pressure at the toe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this software really free?

Yes. Static Structures provides free alternatives to expensive software like spColumn and Enercalc. We believe basic engineering tools should be accessible to all students and professionals.

Can I save my work?

You can generate a PDF report which serves as a permanent record of your design. We do not currently store your project data on our servers for privacy reasons.

Which code standard is used?

All modules are designed according to ACI 318-19: Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and ASCE 7 load combinations.
